Mayor Sadiq Khan of London and Mayor Zohran Mamdani of New York illustrate how destructive it is to have Muslims in charge of major Western cities — and how their antisemitism drives real-world violence.
Both Mamdani and Khan blustered recently about arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the false charges of “genocide” in Gaza that experts have debunked over and over. Whether the two mayors ever had any power or intention of carrying through their threats is immaterial in this instance because the real issue regards the fact that they are so openly threatening to arrest the leader of another country purely because they are antisemites.
The Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham terrorist dictator of Syria, now calling himself al-Sharaa, has attempted genocide on the religious and ethnic minorities of his country in the last couple of years. Nigerian Muslims are committing genocide against Christians. The Chinese Communist Party is committing genocide against religious and ethnic minorities in China. Mamdani and Khan don’t care about any of those because the perpetrators in all instances are either Muslim or Communist. Likewise, the two mayors are fine with Palestinian terrorists calling for the obliteration of Israel, which is genocidal. That is how we know that Mamdani and Khan are actually targeting Netanyahu because he is Jewish and because he fights Islamic jihadis.
Violent antisemites both in London and in New York certainly understand this reality. My colleague Robert Spencer pointed out that Mamdani went on an unhinged rant about Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel only two days before a man screaming “Allahu akbar” stabbed two men, one of whom was Jewish and leaving a synagogue, in New York City.
Earlier this month, Mamdani raised a firestorm of controversy by excluding Italian, Irish, and Jewish neighborhoods from his immigrant and ethnic enclave map for the city. The mayor joined in a prayer at a local mosque that called for killing "infidels." Last month, an NYC coffee shop refused coffee to Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) because he is Jewish and supports Israel. In March, two Muslims in New York attacked a group of protesters with explosives. Around the same time, a violent mob injured police who were trying to prevent them from storming a synagogue in Manhattan. You get the picture — Mamdani’s rhetoric is anti-Israel and there have been multiple antisemitic attacks just this year.

Across the pond, Mayor Khan, like Mayor Mamdani, is threatening Netanyahu:

Just between April and May 2026, antisemitic hate crimes in London rose by 72%, according to The Jerusalem Post. These included multiple arson attacks and the stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green. Besides covering up for Muslim rape gangs and pedophiles, Khan is also encouraging virulent hatred against Jews.
There has been a very dangerous spike in antisemitic incidents globally since Oct. 2023 and the Hamas atrocities in Israel. Pew Research found that about half of Muslim-Americans have a positive view of Hamas. And why not? Islam explicitly teaches that murder, rape, and enslavement of non-Muslims is morally praiseworthy. This is why every country that allows in a large number of Muslims ends up turning into a sharia hellhole. The worst part is that Western nations like America and the UK are undergoing that transformation right now.
