After a Hezbollah strike killed a United Nations employee this week, the head of the UN refused to acknowledge Hezbollah was guilty, because that would undermine his false narrative that eeeevil Israel is randomly bombing innocent Lebanese civilians who don’t want war.
It is a complete joke to pretend there is any sort of ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, not because Israel has not tried it — in fact, Israeli forces have paused fighting multiple times, including once under American government pressure — but because Hezbollah will never stop fighting Israel so long as it exists and the Lebanese government won’t take any decisive action against the jihadis.

A mortar shell that Iranian terror proxy Hezbollah fired killed one and injured two in a UNIFIL position on Wednesday night. It is amazing how the UN has “peacekeepers” in so many countries around the world that just keep getting more violent. When has the UN ever brought peace to any country or region?
Outgoing UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who actively employs thousands of terrorists through UNRWA and who never met a tyrant or a terrorist he didn’t like, was quick to condemn the strike but not to mention who was responsible. “I condemn the recent killing of a Serbian @UNIFIL_ peacekeeper in Lebanon. Seven peacekeepers serving with UNIFIL have now been killed & several more have been wounded since the escalation in hostilities since March this year. These attacks must stop,” he pontificated.

Back in April, after a different Hezbollah attack that killed a UN employee, after which Guterres also refused to mention the terrorist group by name, the Israeli Foreign Ministry compared posting “about a Hezbollah terror attack in Lebanon without mentioning the perpetrator” to “reviewing Jaws and skipping the shark.”
Recently, the UN ranked Israel with outright terrorist groups for alleged widespread sexual abuse. The designation was based entirely on allegations from explicit terrorist organizations and affiliates. When asked whether she had bothered to verify any of the claims in the report used for the designation, Special Representative Pramila Patten was outraged. “No. Because that's — this is not my — my job,” Patten snarked. “And even throughout the engagement of the permanent mission, I made it clear that I will not visit detention facilities, even if they [Israelis] offered.” She not only didn’t verify the claims, but she also refused any opportunity to do so.
Guterres, Patten, and all their ilk at the United Nations enthusiastically support terrorism and the obliteration of Israel. The refusal to blame Hezbollah is not due to ignorance, but to willful deception in order to cover for a genocidal Islamic terrorist group. As usual, Guterres simply provided yet one more reason why America should defund the UN altogether and stop granting its employees diplomatic immunity.
