It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad world — thanks to the Democrat Party.
August 1 is the anniversary of the birth of Herman Melville, the brilliant American author best known for writing what many consider to be the greatest American novel: “Moby-Dick.” In that novel, Melville has his narrator Ishmael reflect, “There is no folly of the beast of the earth which is not infinitely outdone by the madness of man.”
In “Moby-Dick,” of course, the mania for revenge against the mighty white whale drives not only Captain Ahab, but his entire crew to destruction (except Ishmael). And in this way also, it is a metaphor for the Democrat Party, which aims not only to enforce its demonic ideology on its supporters, but also on the whole country, sinking the entire ship, as it were, under the weight of their insanity.
We could go through endless anecdotes, of course, but it hardly seems necessary. We all know how pernicious Democrat policies are. The point is that too many Americans still want to believe that Democrats can and will agree to compromise, act civilized, and work in their own interests (why we would think that when they haven’t acted that way for 200 years, I don’t know, but we do). But to a certain extent, leftism is a mental illness. That’s why it’s difficult or nigh impossible to argue with the truest believers in the Democrat Party. They are beyond the reach of reason as an insane person is.

Obviously there are some Democrat voters to whom that doesn’t apply, but it applies to much of the leadership and the hardcore activists. Some Democrats vote that way because their family does, or they bought into the race-baiting, or they are susceptible to emotional gambits. But the truly dangerous Democrats are like cult members, for whom no amount of truth and reality will penetrate their ideology.
Whenever a compromise is made, it is always the Republicans who give ground. The Democrats won’t budge even when they’re at historically low popularity. The same party that celebrates beheading unborn babies and massacring Jews doesn’t care about Americans losing jobs or children being groomed in school.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is one obvious symptom of this insanity. There are thousands of Democrats who really think Donald Trump is worse than Hitler, it’s a tragedy he wasn’t assassinated, and his supporters deserve any torture or prison sentence, no matter how harsh. This is not based on any facts or well thought-out process of reasoning, but on a crazed conditioning to react like a nutcase at the mere mention of a name.
When we watch Joe Biden gibbering, Cory Booker bellowing, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez babbling, Kamala Harris cackling, Nancy Pelosi wobbling, or Gavin Newsom sneering — when we see the media doubling down on thrice-debunked hoaxes and activists hysterically rioting in support of illegal alien rapists and Islamic jihadis, how truly we can say with Melville, “There is no folly of the beast of the earth which is not infinitely outdone by the madness of man.”
