Pfizer Announces Pfantastic Lyme Disease Vaccine: Will You Take It?

CDC via AP, File

Big Pfarma company Pfizer, along with a French company called Valneva, has released phase 3 clinical human trial data for the companies’ new four-dose Lyme disease vaccine. The two behemoths worked jointly on VLA15, which reportedly is 70% effective.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), VLA15 “is a multivalent, protein subunit vaccine that targets the outer surface protein A (OspA) of Borrelia. This vaccine is designed to protect people against North American and European strains of the Lyme disease bacterium.”

In theory, if you take this vaccine once approved, it’s supposed to help prevent contraction of Lyme disease if you get bitten by a tick. But, of course, that’s the old definition of vaccines. The new one that the CDC rolled out during the COVID-19 pandemic after those vaccines weren’t living up to their hype was revised so that now, the CDC says a vaccine is, “A suspension of live (usually attenuated) or inactivated microorganisms (e.g., bacteria or viruses), fractions of the agent, or genetic material of the administered to induce immunity and prevent infectious diseases and their sequelae.”

I’m sorry. That just seems intentionally obtuse. Let’s try Webster’s dictionary definition of vaccine: “A preparation that is administered (as by injection) to stimulate the body’s immune response against a specific infectious agent or disease.”

So does this new Lyme disease vaccine stimulate the body’s immune response against Lyme disease?

The CDC says that the new vaccine was developed by the University of Massachusetts Medical School's MassBiologics. It’s described as “a human monoclonal antibody intended for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) against Lyme disease.”

The vaccine is not a one-time-and-you’re-done thing. It’s supposedly seasonal, like a flu shot, and even then, you need four shots. Do all that, and you have a 70% chance of protection, at least according to what we’re told.

That said, there is some good news here that might give you pause before rejecting it outright. This is not the Biden administration’s CDC. It’s the second Trump administration’s CDC, and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., has already cleaned house in some corners of the CDC.

Right now, the CDC is conducting research to better assess the potential Lyme disease vaccine and the public’s possible reception to it.

First, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would need to deem the vaccine as “safe and effective.” At that point, the CDC will work with its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to come up with recommendations on who should take the vaccine.

In June 2025, the HHS reconstituted ACIP, the agency removing 17 of ACIP’s sitting members, replacing them with new members.

In addition, the Trump administration had appointed Jay Bhattacharya to run the CDC. The left had mercilessly canceled Bhattacharya for questioning the whole leftist narrative on COVID-19 when Biden ran things. So if his CDC is on board with a Lyme disease vaccine, does that make you more receptive to it?

You have to assume he came at this one with a skeptic’s eye, yet the vaccine is moving closer to market.

I’m not sure about you, but ever since the pandemic, my whole trust in the healthcare system and its motivations and incentives has taken a real beating. I always have to weigh what would be the worst thing that could happen if I don’t take a vaccine like this? What I typically find is that there are alternative plans worth considering if you don’t trust a vaccine. You just have to do your research and look around.

Meanwhile, I'll take a wait-and-see approach, with an emphasis on "wait." One red flag I'll be watching for is fear-mongering from the legacy media that describes this year's "tick season" as one of the worst ever. Since the legacy media always has an agenda, I'll be left to wonder if it's just shilling for pharma. Wouldn't be the first time, would it?
