As I've been covering throughout the last week, the people of Cuba are fed up with the regime that has ruined their lives, and they're demanding a change. For the last nine nights, they've taken to the streets to do just that, as they now live largely without power, running water, or significant amounts of food. The regime claims they are simply upset because they don't have access to these things and understandably so. It blames the United States.
But the truth is that's not what these people are protesting. They're not in the streets simply asking for power and food. They're demanding the Castro regime be removed after 67 years. They chant "down with communism." They spray paint it on the walls of schools, businesses, and other buildings. They're also shouting "Long live Trump" because for the first time in their lives they see a U.S. president who actually does things to combat the atrocities in the world, and Trump has said Cuba will be next this year.
On Friday night, they literally tried to burn down a Communist Party headquarters in the town of MorĂłn. It doesn't get much more obvious than this.
🚨BREAKING —> The people of #Cuba have just set fire to the Communist Party’s Headquarters in the eastern town of #Morón.

The millions who have fled the country stand in solidarity with them. They know what it's like to live under communism. They refuse to romanticize it. They know what it's like to go days without a real meal, to go hours each day without power, to have to store water to have something to drink, or to live on streets piled with garbage. They know what it's like to lose a child because there isn't proper medical care or to lose a parent because they dared to speak their mind and ended up a political prisoner of the regime.

For some reason, Democrats in the United States who have never actually lived under communism seem to think this is good stuff. Even worse, they seem to think that they can left-splain this to the people who actually live it and suffer. The reality is that the so-called "party of the people" is actually the party of supporting gross human rights violations.
On Saturday, the Democrat Socialists of America (DSA) announced that it's going to "stop the siege."
"The Trump administration has escalated the decades-long embargo on Cuba, cutting off the island’s access to oil, choking its energy grid, and accelerating a humanitarian crisis for ten million people. This is a deliberate act of economic warfare. It is a siege," it wrote on its website. "We can’t stay silent in the face of this brazen imperialism. DSA is fighting back. Together, we can stop this escalation, send material aid, and build a powerful legislative push to end the U.S. embargo."
Straight out of the Cuban regime's propaganda playbook.
The group also announced that on March 21, it's joining a convoy to "bring much-needed material aid, volunteer our labor in solidarity, and show the world that Cuba is under siege, but they are not alone."
First of all, Mexico's narco-president, Claudia Sheinbaum, already tried the whole "material aid" thing, and it's being sold in bulk by the regime in military stores, not given to the starving citizens. Second of all, based on all the protests I've been documenting over the last nine nights, I don't think you're going to be doing anything "in solidarity" with the Cuban people. They want to be "under siege." They are literally in the streets calling for Trump to keep going after the regime.
But it's not just this delusional group of wackos. The Democrats in Congress seem to hate the Cuban people too. Senators Tim Kaine (D-Va), Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), and Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) introduced yet another War Powers Resolution this past week to "ensure any U.S. participation in hostilities against Cuba is explicitly authorized by Congress."
I can't even keep up with how many times these clowns have done this over the past six months or so. It's all meaningless theater and a blatant waste of taxpayer dollars. Here's what Kaine had to say about it:
When will President Trump understand that Americans want lower prices, not more unnecessary wars? Only Congress has the power to declare war under the Constitution, but he operates with the belief that the U.S. military is a palace guard, ordering military action in the Caribbean, Venezuela, and Iran without Congress’ authorization or any explanation for his actions to the American people. We shouldn’t risk our sons and daughters’ lives at the whims of any one person. After President Trump’s recent blockade and threats of military action in Cuba, I’m introducing this War Powers Resolution to prevent our Armed Forces from engaging in hostilities unless authorized by Congress.
Has Trump threatened military action in Cuba? I must have missed that. As a matter of fact, most people who have a vested interest in the situation in Cuba have said that making changes there won't require military action at all. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said just last week that this is not really a "boots on the ground" situation.
People constantly say Russia or China will come to the Cuban regime's rescue, but so far, all they offer is diplomatic support. The Democrats are actually the ones undermining the wishes of the Cuban people.
The fact is that Trump's pressure is working. The regime is crumbling. The only thing the DSA and the Democrats in the Senate are accomplishing with all of this is the potential to slow down the process. Why do they hate the Cuban people so much? Why do they want them to suffer?
