How sad it is that Democrats are so confident they will never face consequences for their illegal actions that they can openly brag about trampling our laws.
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani is having a breakdown after ICE had to shoot an illegal alien in self-defense. The illegal alien is not dead, and he has an extensive criminal history, including gang affiliation, grand larceny, and assault, besides violently attacking federal officers during the arrest. But Mamdani wants to reassure all illegal aliens in New York that he is there to protect them and interfere with federal enforcement. And if he didn’t have a political title, that would put Mamdani in handcuffs, because it is in violation of federal law.
Firstly, what exactly did Comrade Mamdani say? “Immigrant New Yorkers belong here. ICE does not,” he posted Friday. “If you or someone you love needs help, call our free, confidential Immigration Legal Support Hotline at 1-800-354-0365 or dial 311 and say ‘Immigration Legal.’ Help is here in your native language, no matter your immigration status.” Let’s take a moment to appreciate the irony of calling a hotline for illegal aliens “immigration legal.” Mamdani also linked to a website that lies to illegal aliens in over a dozen languages about having constitutional rights, which actually only apply to citizens. One of the garbage talking points is that ICE needs to have a warrant to interrogate and arrest illegal aliens, which is patently false (see 8 U.S. Code § 1357).

Besides lying about federal law, Mamdani is himself breaking federal law. Instead of just saying that over and over, however, let me explain, and you can judge for yourselves. 8 U.S. Code § 1324, or “Bringing in and harboring certain aliens,” punishes anyone who “conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place.”
It also criminalizes encouraging illegal aliens to reside within the United States. Individuals convicted under this law could face anywhere from one to 10 years in prison or a fine, based on the nature of the offense.
Furthermore, 18 U.S. Code § 118, or “Interference with certain protective functions,” states:
Any person who knowingly and willfully obstructs, resists, or interferes with a Federal law enforcement agent engaged, within the United States or the special maritime territorial jurisdiction of the United States, in the performance of the protective functions authorized under section 37 of the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956… or section 103 of the Diplomatic Security Act …shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
Finally, 18 U.S. Code § 111, or “Assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers or employees,” penalizes anyone who “assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates, or interferes with” federal immigration officers. I emphasized the word “or,” because any interference with immigration enforcement is a violation; it doesn’t have to involve personal violence against ICE. Violators could face up to eight years in prison.
Mamdani is a jihad-loving socialist who despises America and her laws. He wants to import as many illegal aliens, preferably Muslims, as possible to transform New York. He is even willing to defy the law to do so.
