We all know that the outpouring of sympathy for Lindsay Clancy, the mother who slowly strangled her three children to death, is the result of years of abortion rhetoric on the left. It is also the result of more than a century of elites claiming that grave mortal sin is nothing more than a treatable chemical imbalance. But it is starting to look as if Massachusetts Democrats also want the case to be misrepresented in order to justify a massive government overreach.
Just in case anyone needs a reminder of who the real victims are in the case, check out Patrick Clancy‘s heartbreaking phone call when he discovered his “buddy” Dawson and his other children in the basement after Lindsay strangled them, and watch below as he talks about the youngest baby surviving a few days before dying in his arms. No amount of depression could possibly justify what Lindsay Clancy did, especially given the level of premeditation that she put into it. The fact that this is even up for debate in America is horrifying.

But since Sarah Anderson already covered Patrick’s unimaginable heartbreak, I want to focus on the reaction from Gov. Maura Healey (D-Mass.), who, as my other colleague Ashley McCully reported, is now proposing taxpayer-funded government visits to new mothers in the state. Talk about Orwellian.
It is incredibly important in this instance to remember that Healey recently legalized abortion of babies right up to birth, and that she defended state officials’ decision to kidnap a gender dysphoric teenager away from her Catholic parents because they disagreed with her school’s secret “gender transition.” Healey tried to claim she was in the right because there were criminal charges against Joseph and Arlene Kutzko, but since a court already determined these charges were unfounded, the only possible justification left for forcing the Kutzkos to have no contact with their daughter is that they still refuse to affirm radical transgender ideology. The U.S. Department of Education is currently investigating the school district for its grooming of the Kutzkos’ daughter.
But to return to Healey’s new plan to offer state visits to postpartum mothers. Even if you presume that a government visit could identify the signs of a mother being willing to become a murderess, what the hell would the government do to fix that situation? When has government interference ever solved a crisis of mental health? Healey believes that Catholic parents who disagree with transgender ideology are objects of persecution, that it is morally praiseworthy to dismember babies just before they are born, and that a woman who strangled her babies and then expressed no sense of guilt is an object of empathy. Her standards for what actions the government should take and who should have custody of kids are insanely skewed.
Lindsay Clancy was literally a rich lady with tons of resources. Resources weren’t the problem. Her strangling the life out of all three of her kids IS THE PROBLEM. I wouldn’t expect Gov. @maura_healey to understand that though since she recently made it legal to abort innocent babies up until birth. Of course she empathizes with the child killer.

For Our VIPs: What Do Lindsay Clancy and Xavier Becerra Have in Common?
Right now she is framing the visits as optional, but Democrats always do that when they first begin a new invasive program. Everything is optional until the government decides you were going to jail for not opting in. You think we would’ve learned that with COVID, if from nothing else. Heck, the federal government banned gender transitions for minors, yet Healey is still keeping the Kutzkos and their daughter apart.
To be honest with you, given her track record on grooming children, I wouldn’t be surprised if Healey wants an excuse not only to get the government more involved in parenting, but to confiscate children from parents with whom she disagrees religiously or politically. What if a mother takes advantage of the taxpayer-funded visit only to find herself reported to child protective services because she is a practicing Catholic or other traditional Christian? What if the mother is an orthodox Jew? Will the state-employed nurses respect those religious beliefs? Or is Healey just using the Lindsay Clancy insanity to justify a devious socialist move to take yet more parenting responsibilities from parents?
