Hiding Much? Newsom Signs 'Stop Nick Shirley Act.'

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) reportedly just signed legislation into law that critics say would criminalize certain forms of investigative journalism. In which case, I think we can safely say he definitely has a hell of a lot to hide.

Presumably, the Stop Nick Shirley Act will face legal challenges, given that it could raise serious First Amendment concerns, but it is not clear how long it might take to resolve those challenges. The case might go all the way to the Supreme Court, and meanwhile, will Commifornia’s Dems be arresting reporters?

Newsom’s wife and staff have been under a federal investigation since the Biden administration, ironically, and the Trump administration is also looking into California’s election system over evidence of egregious fraud. Furthermore, the Department of Health and Human Services this summer had to hold up $1 billion in Medicaid payments because of mind-blowingly extensive fraud evident in Commiefornia. California is also a sanctuary state for illegal alien criminals, which is against federal law, even providing aliens taxpayer-funded benefits.

Unsurprisingly, in light of all this and mounting suspicions that Democrats are not quite so solidly in power in California as they want us to believe, and that they essentially bribe foreign and domestic criminals to keep themselves in power, investigations like the ones below infuriate them.

The only possible reason one would have to support the Stop Nick Shirley Act is to protect oneself or one’s cronies. Incidentally, Mia Bonta, the main sponsor of the Stop Nick Shirley Act, is married to Newsom's attorney general, Rob Bonta.

From the New York Post:

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed California’s controversial “Stop Nick Shirley Act” into law on Saturday, just days after a radical left-wing operative crashed the journalist’s Capitol interview and launched a crude personal attack on him.

Assembly Bill 2624 expands California’s Safe at Home program to employees of nonprofits that serve people navigating the immigration system… Shirley, an independent journalist and YouTuber, has made videos following immigrant workers and accusing them of fraud.

The crude act that the Post referenced seems to be the one involving the California Assembly chief of staff who distributed messages mocking Shirley’s genitals. California Democrats are making it blindingly obvious they love their corruption and immigration violations.
