California Democrats declared that arresting violent anti-ICE rioters and removing graphic sexual content from grade schools were horrible assaults on sacred free speech. Now they’re about to make investigative journalism to expose political corruption illegal. It's because Democrats love violence and perversion but hate honest journalism and constitutional rights.
The First Amendment does not protect pornography for kids and rioting, no matter how much propaganda Dems spew to the contrary. But the First Amendment does protect exposés on fraud. California Democrats are on the verge of criminalizing such exposés, however, because their power is dependent on election fraud, taxpayer funding fraud, sanctuary policies, and a two-tiered justice system.

Why are Gavin Newsom and Co. so infuriated at Shirley? Democrats love the current situation in America where a high-ranking official or bureaucrat can commit almost any violation of the laws and escape all consequences. But Democrats believe not only should they evade fines, prison, or other penalties, they also want to avoid even exposure. They hate reporting that shows they are engaged in shady or outright illegal activities. They are oligarchs who reject the people’s right to know what elected officials and political appointees are doing.

By the way, Mia Bonta, the main sponsor of the Stop Nick Shirley Act, is married to Newsom's Attorney General Rob Bonta. Newsom bragged in 2023 about forbidding “book bans” — that is, ensuring age-appropriate material — in schools. He claimed this defined California as the “true freedom state.” Bonta not only backs explicit content for schoolchildren, but he has also gone out of his way to enforce the California law preventing teachers from telling parents who disapprove of LGBTQ ideology that their children are “gender transitioning.” Bonta actually sued one district that required notification to parents. Apparently there are no parental rights in Commiefornia.

Obviously, the so-called banned books were never about free speech. They were always about California Democrats sanctioning their aggressive grooming of young children.
Bonta also promoted a portal that allowed woke Californians to dox ICE agents, which is in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 119 and helped fuel an 8,000% increase in death threats and over 1,300% increase in assaults on ICE. When anti-ICE riots began rocking Los Angeles, ultimately resulting in numerous charges for near-deadly assaults on officers, Gov. Newsom justified the rioters and smeared ICE. Even when he acknowledged some of the rioters were criminals, he specifically thanked protestors for trying to interfere with arrests of foreign criminals. California’s sanctuary policies violate federal law.
