Dystopian Horror: Couple Demands Surrogate Pay Damages for Refusing to Abort Baby They’re Keeping

“Things fall apart, the center cannot hold, mere anarchy is loosed upon the world. The blood-dimmed tide is loosed and everywhere the ceremony of innocence is drowned.” —From “The Second Coming,” by W.B. Yeats

The case of Baby Gabriel has exposed so much of what is evil and perverse in American society now. Firs, a couple paid to have a biological baby artificially inseminated and implanted in a woman. Then the baby turned out to have a heart defect, and the donor “parents” demanded that the surrogate mother abort the baby.

When she refused and fled to Texas for protection, they tried to pressure her and authorities into either aborting the baby or letting him die after he was born. When that ploy did not succeed, the donor parents (Nausheen Gilkar and Omar Ahmed) demanded custody of the baby whom they had wanted dead and sued the surrogate mother for $100,000 in damages. How could this happen in a country founded on Judeo-Christian principles and once claiming God as our only king?

The New York Post reported the latest update on the case of Baby Gabriel and his surrogate mother, McKenna West, who is trying to obtain custody of him, since she was the only adult out of the three involved in Gabriel‘s conception and birth who actually cared about him as an individual and not as a commodity.

She did wrong in agreeing to be a surrogate, but she did a brave and noble deed by standing up for the unborn baby when the couple who purchased him wanted him dead. Now, all of a sudden, the couple who were furious at his survival want him back, but they are still planning to squeeze McKenna West for more money than they originally promised to pay her because she dared to ensure that survival. She was supposed to receive $60,000 for the pregnancy, and they want her to pay $100,000 in damages. The whole thing is so despicable and irrational it is difficult to wrap one’s mind around. And I also want to know which stupid authorities granted custody of the baby, whom Gilkar and Ahmed are trying to rename “Rumi,” to the couple who were so eager for his death. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton made an effort to intervene in the case, but obviously was not in time to save the baby from Gilkar and Ahmed.

Gilkar and Ahmed are trying to claim that they are the victims, with their lawyer even asserting that they were suffering heartbreak, according to The Post Millennial, and the couple accuses West of “malicious, outrageous conduct.” Perhaps they even really believe they are the victims, that they are not the ones who were malicious and outrageous. Leftist ideology has so cheapened the value of individual human life, and even so many people who call themselves conservative are willing to compromise on baby murder, that most people quietly accept the proposition that it is okay to kill certain children in order to spare the parents some inconvenience. If for some reason the “inconvenient” child survives, we are supposed to feel sorry for the parents who now have to deal with the child’s medical conditions.

This is the ideology of Nazi Germany and the early 20th century American forced eugenics movement resurrected. Like the forced sterilization laws in dozens of states that never got overturned, despite the horrors of WWII, the unconstitutional and anti-American cheapening of life never really left U.S. politics, it just changed form. Now, instead of forcibly castrating women, politicians and media and woke institutions pressure women into killing their babies. Or, in the case of Baby Gabriel, donor parents try to force a surrogate to kill their child, then claim the surrogate has victimized them because she wouldn’t have the baby dismembered or beheaded in the womb.

The Declaration of Independence recognized that every human being has a God-given right to life, and the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution declared that the government cannot deprive an individual of life without due process of law, which “due process” cannot apply to a fully innocent unborn baby. And yet, in a country founded on these two documents, we now have the case of Baby Gabriel. At what point did America lose its soul?
