Teachers' Union Brags About Fighting Trump's Plan to Eliminate Racism and Bias in Universities

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) union is openly boasting about its work to sabotage the Trump administration's effort to remove racism, anti-free speech bias, foreign entanglements, and discriminatory hiring at the university level. If you want to know why American students’ test scores are abysmal while their wokeness is becoming increasingly extreme, this is why.

The teachers in Randi Weingarten’s union are so obsessed with trying to undermine every effort the Trump administration makes to reform our immigration and education systems that they completely ignore the disastrous illiteracy and ignorance of their students. Or perhaps they want American students, by and large, to be ignorant. After all, young people who have very little useful knowledge but a great deal of brainwashing are much easier to control.

U.S. student scores are in a "generation-long decline," according to Harvard's Center for Education Policy Research in May. "Compared with a decade earlier, reading scores were down last year in 83 percent of school districts where data was available. Math scores were down in 70 percent. The declines have affected both rich and poor districts, and crossed racial and geographic divides." This is a national, ideological, and systemic problem, not a localized or financial one, and it's been happening for years.

Coincidentally, almost two-thirds of Americans under 30 now support socialism. They’re learning something in school, but not anything likely to make them more skilled or more free.

And it’s no wonder when you find press releases like the one AFT put out about how it intends to influence the midterms on behalf of radical leftists who brainwash and groom children. It included this paragraph:

The AFT/AAUP Blueprint for Strengthening and Transforming Higher Education was the focus of the Higher Education Committee’s presentation at the AFT convention … According to Professional Staff Congress President and Higher Education PPC Chair James C. Davis, the blueprint grew out of the national campaign Saving Lives, Building Futures, Powering the Economy and conversations with thousands of members across the country. Davis praised affiliates who have taken up the campaign’s goals and run with them, including at his own institution, the City University of New York, where PSC-CUNY has gotten three of the four contingent faculty who were fired in 2025 for “engaging in protected free speech” rehired. “We’re still fighting for the fourth job,” Davis said. He also credited the campaign with powering the local organizing and mobilizing that ensured President Trump’s “Compact for Academic Excellence” was a failure.

Take particular note of the sentence that I highlighted. Not only are the AFT and its favored plaintiffs explicitly fighting on behalf of individuals who cheer Hamas terrorists and label it free speech, not only are they explicitly trying to undermine the Trump administration's initiative, but they also believe they have already defeated the latter.

So what exactly is in the “Compact for Academic Excellence” that is so hateful to Weingarten and her crew of Marxist propagandists? The compact is specifically aimed at eliminating racial and sexual standards for hiring and admissions, ensuring an individualized and truly equal approach to all students, promoting a “marketplace of ideas” and “civil discourse,” discouraging biased political campaigning at institutions of higher learning, restricting foreign money, and requiring financial responsibility. That is what AFT is proud of undermining. And that is precisely why American students’ scores will continue to drop.
