A huge percentage of homeless people in America, particularly in urban areas, are drug addicts. The truth is that, while some homeless people begin abusing substances after losing their homes, drug addiction can easily land people on the streets. But Democrats blame homelessness for the drug addiction, flipping reality on its head in order to justify the fact that they never solve the root problem.
Spencer Pratt is on the warpath against Commies as usual, and one of his disagreements with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass concerns her nonsense comments about homeless people who use drugs habitually:

In May, Science Insights reported that nearly 20% of homeless people in the U.S. have a "chronic substance use disorder," that 37% of homeless people are regular drug users, and that "65% said they had used illicit drugs regularly (at least three times a week) at some point in their lives." Rational people would conclude that drug abuse is a contributing factor in what lands people in a situation of having no home. Bass, however, concluded that homeless people are all helpless victims of fate who only abuse drugs because they are depressed or unsafe. Perhaps that's why she uses taxpayer money to fund drug paraphernalia for homeless addicts?
Of course, it is typical for Democrats, as it is for all Marxists, to claim that criminals and terrorists and societal leeches are purely the victims of circumstance and a rigged system rather than in any way responsible for their own actions. Even if it is true that some of these people did have unfair or difficult circumstances, the Judeo-Christian perspective is that every individual always has an ability to make a choice within every set of circumstances for good or for evil. That is precisely what Democrats deny. For them, the victimizers are always the victims, and law-abiding citizens are required to suffer any inconvenience or outright harm to accommodate lawbreakers.

The pattern I described of victim-blaming and criminal-justifying is not simply because Democrats like to play victimization politics and class warfare. Democrats neither wish to solve problems nor have any capability of doing so. No state or town has ever become more prosperous, safer, freer, more unified, or more just because of Democrat control. Indeed, to be a Democrat is to advocate policies that preclude any such results. To be woke, socialist, and anti-American is to guarantee negative results for society.
That is what's behind propaganda like Bass's lies. She has neither the ability nor the willpower to clean up L.A., so instead she comes up with fake excuses as to why homeless drug addicts are doomed to live forever on the streets, high on crack and meth. In the long run, her excuses are not just on behalf of the homeless addicts, but on behalf of her own incompetence and corruption.
