Abortionists have massacred tens of millions more black Americans than the KKK, the Red Shirts, and other racist terrorists did. Yet the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) — which funded the KKK — framed pro-lifers as white supremacists.
Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) challenged interim SPLC President Bryan Fair at a Tuesday hearing, "Your organization said that 'restricting and banning abortion is a tool of the far right uses to maintain white supremacy.' Do you believe that pro-lifers are white supremacists?" Gill asked this question multiple times, emphasizing the gravity of the accusation, but all Fair would say in response is "Um, what I think is that, uh, reproductive liberty is a right that every woman should enjoy."
Gill then changed tactics, asking: "How many babies in the United States that are aborted are black?" Since Fair just stared at him, Gill answered the question: "About 40% of abortions nationwide are of black babies, blacks represent about 13% of the population. Does that sound like something a wide supremacists would oppose?" Since Fair had no answer, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) then interrupted to harass Gill.

A 2024 SPLC report under “Dismantling White Supremacy” claimed, “The anti-abortion movement is inherently a white supremacist, male supremacist and classist political project.” Perhaps now is a good time to reiterate that the Justice Department brought charges against the SPLC for specifically funding white supremacist groups. SPLC assets used the money to buy KKK robes, cross burning gear, and other racist "paraphernalia."

In fact, it is the pro-abortion movement that is racist. A 2022 report from LifeNews stated that 20 million black babies had died in abortion since 1973. The Global Statistics reported that black women have the highest abortion rate in America, while white women have the lowest. Also in 2022, the CDC found nearly 40% of aborted U.S. babies were black, even though as of 2023, only about 14% of Americans were black. Gill cited similar statistics at the hearing. Benjamin Watson wrote for Newsweek in 2023:
Black women are nearly four times as likely to have an abortion as their white counterparts. Recent studies have found that for every 100 live births, nearly 12 white babies will be aborted, while nearly 43 black babies will die by abortion for every 100 live births.
In other words, the number of aborted black babies is wildly disproportionate to the black population in America. This was all by design, a deliberate plan from Democrats stretching back over a century.
The Smithsonian Magazine estimates racists lynched 2,000 black Americans between 1865 and 1876, during the height of Democrat/Confederate post-Civil War terrorism. Between 1882 and 1968, around 3,500 black Americans died by lynching, according to Statista. Historian H.W. Brands cited data collected under the U.S. Grant administration, which was focused on promoting civil rights, to state that in many Democrat-controlled states during Reconstruction, there were constant assaults, rapes, and even murders against white Republicans and black Americans. But the Democrats who joined the KKK, mourned the defeat of the Confederacy, and fought civil rights tooth and nail found a far more effective tool for accomplishing black genocide: abortion.
Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, was an honored speaker at a KKK rally in 1926. She saw abortion as a tool for eugenics, eliminating supposedly inferior poor people — but most particularly for wiping out black Americans. A proud racist, she wrote to C.J. Gamble in 1939, “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” In that letter, she discusses co-opting black ministers to frame abortion positively to black Americans so that they would not understand this was a tool for black genocide.
Just as the SPLC funded the KKK to fuel the racism about which it complained at fundraisers and government meetings, Democrats have long vilified pro-lifers as racist when, in fact, abortion has killed more black Americans than anything else.
