Gutfeld Was Right — For Dems, ‘Apocalypse Is a Business Model’

The COVID-19 pandemic, international conflicts, terrorism, transgender ideology, gun violence, natural disasters, elections, illegal immigration… whenever there is a crisis, Democrats and their leftist allies within America and abroad turn it to their advantage. And if there are not enough real crises to justify the latest tyrannical power grab, then leftists just invent one. This really is both a political strategy and a business model for them. Vast amounts of money and government influence go into every apocalypse.

For instance, in Nov. 2025, Junk Science's Steve Milloy announced that the "climate hoaxers" who were part of the Paris agreement had wasted $10 trillion since 2015, and yet not made any measurable impact on global temperatures. Then again, the idea of "average global temperature" is a myth, and the alarmist elites know they're lying, which is why they keeping buying beachfront properties, flying private jets, and making the same predictions over and over, despite every single one proving wrong. The grants to universities, the government programs, the "green" energy initiatives, the conferences, and the restrictions on citizens' rights under the claim of "saving the planet" never had to do with weather. It was always an Orwellian push for global dictatorship, under the guise of "climate action."

Again, take the COVID-19 lockdowns, which cost more lives than they saved, caused famines and political upheavals, and had catastrophic long-term economic consequences. But they also resulted in a significant wealth transfer, with the middle class losing affluence, while the uber-wealthy grew richer. Leftists who want only the plutocrats and the dependent poor to exist were delighted at how many more people were dependent on government handouts after COVID-19, while the middle class found itself most hard hit. In America, many Democrat states used lockdowns as an excuse to shift to primarily mail-in ballots, which are more vulnerable to fraud. Suicide rates spiked, especially among young people. Government's unconstitutional role in healthcare became entrenched as Big Pharma made big bucks off toxic vaccines. And a whole generation of children fell irreparably behind in school, while millions of adults lost their jobs. Leftists who want to destroy capitalistic prosperity and freedom saw all these catastrophes as wins.

Or take illegal immigration. Under the Biden administration, millions of unvetted foreigners flooded our country. Child trafficking turned into a government-fueled industry, crime shot up, all job gains went to migrants, and the housing crisis worsened. But Democrats were able to use the new hordes of third worlders to provide cheap labor, rig congressional apportionment and the Electoral College, terrorize citizens, and engage in population replacement. Illegal immigration is horrible for America, but great for leftist elites.

Speaking of turning violence into an industrial-scale business, Democrats have certainly done that with rioting. If it's not racial riots, it's protests in support of Palestinian and Iranian terrorists, or against immigration enforcement. The rhetoric might differ slightly from month to month, but the goal of keeping political opponents fearful and cities in chaos always remains the same.

I could go on and on with examples, but you get the point. Democrats have made themselves powerful and wealthy out of never letting a good crisis go to waste.
