Academia Continues to Defy Trump Administration Anti-DEI Rules

In some of the least surprising news this month, American universities continue to defy the Trump administration‘s requirements to sacrifice either taxpayer funding or their destructive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. If we’re being honest, the government should really just cut off all leftist universities. At this point, what is so valuable about them that requires hard-working Americans to fund them in spite of their pernicious ideology?

It was entirely predictable that universities would continue to try to carry out DEI programs, events, and organizations under the radar, given that they are not exactly going to change their beliefs overnight. But again, this raises the issue that the Trump administration gave these universities a clear choice, and the universities are breaking their end of the bargain. Federal action is needed. For that matter, state action is needed, because sometimes state laws also ban DEI.

There are several recent stories highlighting the fact that universities across the country continue to brainwash their students into fixating on sex, race, and ethnicity. For instance, an undercover Accuracy in Media (AIM) video published May 6 reveals University of Louisville Sociology professor Karen Christopher discussing how scholarship, training, and programs at the university's liberal arts programs all still incorporate DEI. Despite Kentucky's state law HB 4 banning DEI, which backs up the federal rules, Christopher boasted about continuing to use DEI in her classes.

“Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is central to the field of Sociology…I’m teaching it exactly the same,” she bragged. She said the university's president, Gerry Bradley, knows what to say to keep the "conservative legislature" satisfied while simultaneously reassuring staff about keeping their DEI nonsense going. Christopher's justification was that HB 4 technically did not include rules about curricula.

Another institution of woker learning guilty in this regard is the University of Virginia (UVA), which is incorporating DEI-inspired events into its end-of-year exercises, according to Campus Reform:

The receptions, listed on the university’s official graduation schedule, include the Lavender Graduate Reception, Multicultural Graduate Reception, International Graduate Reception, and Kente Graduate Reception. The events are scheduled for May 14 and 15 at Newcomb Hall.

According to the university’s Office of Major Events website, the Lavender Graduate Reception will “honor LGBTQIA+ students and allies and celebrate their impact at UVA.” The Multicultural Graduate Reception will “honor students from diverse cultural backgrounds,” while the Kente Graduate Reception “honors Black students and celebrates their lasting impact on UVA.”

There's a good way to encourage divisions among the graduating class. Apparently I missed out by attending a school where no events were racially or sexually segregated.

There's also this undercover video from Ohio State University:

The examples are endless, but the point remains the same. If state and federal governments are going to continue funneling taxpayer dollars to universities, there needs to be a lot more accountability.
