Since the Jew-haters who give Christians a bad name have been on social media and online news in force this week, let’s break down and debunk several of the most dangerous narratives now circulating about Israel allegedly “persecuting” Christians and destroying Christian sites.
Israel is certainly the only country in the Middle East where Christians have equal rights, but for some reason, as Islamic terrorists wipe out Christian populations in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and other nations, Western Christians fixate on Israel. For instance, Israel temporarily limiting access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre purely because of repeated Iranian bombings garnered exponentially more coverage during Holy Week than literal massacres and terror attacks in Nigeria and Syria. This week, a lot of the fake news revolves around an attack on a Jerusalem nun, and a hoax about Israel bombing a Lebanese monastery.
The reports about Israel wrecking a monastery in Lebanon are particularly shameful, because the monastery is fully intact, and it was actually Hezbollah that put the monastery at risk, not the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). In fact, despite Hezbollah using the compound that includes the Sisters of the Holy Savior’s monastery and school for launching multiple missile attacks, the IDF carefully protected the religious buildings from damage, according to IDF spokesman LTC Nadav Shoshani. The original and absolutely disgusting false report came from the habitually antisemitic Sky News.
@DropSiteNews This claim is completely inaccurate. This religious structure was not damaged, as shown in these photos taken this morning.

Guess what Sky News isn’t promoting? All the Israeli civilians whom repeated Hezbollah missile attacks on soldiers and civilians have killed or displaced. Those attacks violate the ceasefire agreement. Read one harrowing story here: Exclusive: Israeli Dad Describes Baby's Birth Amid Missile Fire.

The other story creating a lot of online fury right now is more complicated. Yes, the man who attacked a nun in Jerusalem is reportedly Jewish, but the Israeli authorities were very quick to arrest him and are promising they will strictly enforce the law against him. In fact, I cannot help notice that while British authorities just arrested a Christian street preacher, and multiple American states require LGBTQ indoctrination of young children regardless of religious objections, Israeli authorities are dedicated to punishing religiously-fueled attacks.
Furthermore, it is only in Palestinian Authority (PA)-controlled — and therefore Muslim-controlled — areas in Israel that Christian populations have shrunk significantly in recent decades. A 2024 study highlighted just one statistic: “In 1950, Bethlehem and the surrounding villages were 86% Christian. By 2017, Bethlehem’s Christian population had dwindled to 10%.” The change was the jihad-funding PA taking over. In Gaza, the pre-Hamas-ruled Christian population was about 5,000, while in 2023, it was only a thousand. Islamic jihadis are intolerant rulers.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry commented:
The State of Israel views yesterday’s attack against a nun in Jerusalem with the utmost seriousness. Immediately following the incident, the Israel Police opened an investigation, and the suspect was arrested last night. He remains in custody, underscoring Israel’s firm policy against violence and its determination to bring offenders to justice swiftly.
We strongly condemn this despicable attack. Violence against innocent individuals, and especially against members of religious communities, has no place in our society. This shameful act stands in direct contradiction to the values of respect, coexistence, and religious freedom upon which Israel is founded and to which it remains deeply committed.
We extend our sincere sympathies to the nun, who was pushed to the ground and physically attacked, and we convey our solidarity with the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem.
Obviously, the Jerusalem attack on the nun and the injuries she received are tragic and disturbing. But just as we wouldn’t blame all Christians for one Christian attacking a Jew (which happens much more often), so the weaponization of the nun’s injuries to push an antisemitic narrative is wrong. Instead of being part of the huge surge in violent antisemitism since Oct. 2023, Christians should be working to promote unity with Jews, to avoid any more interfaith attacks and misunderstandings.
