At least four women have now reportedly revealed inappropriate behavior and harassment from Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), and he is also in hot water for defying U.S. Embassy instructions so he could party in Colombia.
As an Arizonan, I knew that Gallego was a dishonest dirtbag with a lot of sketchy accusations in his political past, so it is not exactly shocking to hear that he behaves inappropriately, just as his buddy, ex-Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), does. But if Congress put pressure on Swalwell to resign, why shouldn’t the Arizona senator be receiving similar pressure? Let’s have even more accountability for Democrat harassers.
Part of the current scandal involves Gallego's trip to Colombia. NOTUS reporter Reese Gorman explained on April 23, “While on a CODEL [congressional delegation] to Colombia last summer, Sen. Ruben Gallego and his chief stayed out until 3 a.m. partying at a club and asked multiple embassy staffers to join them, despite warnings from the U.S. Embassy in Colombia that they had identified a credible threat to Gallego’s life.”
Not only did Gallego ignore the instructions himself, but he also urged others to do so. “At least one female embassy employee told her colleagues she received a message from Gallego asking her to come out,” Gorman added.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) replied to the report by stating, “I have now heard of 4 women who have had multiple and uncomfortable/inappropriate advances/comments/touching, etc. from Senator Gallego. This is not made up and the Senate is being awfully quiet about it.”

Luna previously but somewhat vaguely accused Gallego of multiple potentially criminal actions, including campaign finance violations and charges that were “sexual in nature.” The congresswoman claimed “there is a woman that allegedly is coming forward with attorneys [and] wants to go on-record about an incident that occurred between the two of them at the same time, and the event was sexual in nature, allegedly.”
She told CBS News, “I think any time that you are knowingly engaging in purchasing someone for sex, that that is something that should be taken seriously.” It appears, therefore, that the incident involved a money transaction. Prostitution is a crime in most of the United States. Luna told CBS that Senate Majority Leader John Thune is investigating the accusation against Gallego, but given his usual refusal to take decisive action on anything, that probably won’t go anywhere fast.
You might remember that in one of my previous articles, I discussed Gallego’s scandalous divorce. He served his pregnant wife with divorce papers, totally shocking her, not long before she gave birth. He then tried to force her to pay for his attorney’s fees in the divorce, successfully argued he shouldn’t provide any long-term spousal maintenance, and not long afterwards married a much younger woman. That’s the kind of man he is.
The new accusations, if true, would therefore be very disturbing but not completely shocking revelations about just how corrupt and abusive Gallego is to the women in his life.
