WEF Promotes Communist China's Aggressively Military-Focused Five-Year Plan

The World Economic Forum closed out March with a nauseating, gushingly enthusiastic promotion of the genocidal Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Five-Year Plan. What WEF is not going to tell you is how great the emphasis is on the military and asymmetric warfare in China now.

"Self-reliance sits at the base of this technology-led development," WEF declared in starry-eyed excitement about the Five-Year Plan of the worst dictatorship on the planet. There was no acknowledgment of the CCP's military mobilization, countless human rights abuses (particularly as regards workers), or expansion by stealing jobs from other countries' citizens. WEF had no concern about the massive problems of slave and abusive labor in China. In fact, the March 30 WEF piece, written by Dan Cowen and Oscar Yang, read like a literal CCP propaganda release. WEF even repeatedly touted the Belt and Road Initiative, which the CCP uses as an imperialist expansion tool in developing nations.

From the WEF article, or rather advertisement for, the CCP's newest Five-Year Plan:

Like China’s previous Five-Year Plan, 2026-2030 will see the same core priorities develop, especially industrial upgrading and the centring of innovation and technology.

However, this time, innovation is framed more explicitly in terms of self-reliance and the development of “new quality productive forces” – a reference to more high-tech and efficient methods of industrial production.

This new framing reflects a more strategic and security-oriented approach.

At the same time, the plan prioritizes “high-level opening up” – a policy focus signalling continuing external economic engagement. These shifts show how China is seeking to balance stronger domestic resilience with continued global economic integration, with better relations and conditions for trade and investment... The latest plan calls for strengthening the entire innovation ecosystem, from education and talent to research, to enhance innovation capacity.

Note that the hypocritical WEF did not even criticize the CCP for its increasing pollution and environmental destruction, even though the WEF pretends to be so fixated on the "green transition." Nor did the WEF acknowledge that the CCP has been able to make lucrative deals with other countries and bring their industries to China precisely because of its abusive labor practices and lack of concern for pollution. Incidentally, China currently has a catastrophic youth unemployment problem, driven by bad government policy, and its economy almost crashed last year. Extreme poverty remains a severe and widespread issue in China. Don't believe all WEF's happy talk.

The key here is that WEF is deliberately covering up China's economic crises and human rights crimes in order to tout the CCP's plan in exactly the rosy terms the CCP itself uses. In other words, the WEF might as well be a mouthpiece for the most anti-U.S. and genocidal regime in history.

Speaking of both WEF and the CCP being anti-U.S., why should Americans care about the newest Five-Year Plan? Matt Tye and Winston Sterzel, YouTubers who had to flee China after exposing CCP corruption and who now host The China Show, did a deep dive last year on the latest CCP Five-Year Plan, which I covered here on PJ Media. After reviewing the plan and watching the Chinese government forum concerning its launch, Tye warned Westerners that “we’re going to be a situation where China’s goals are going to align for military first, national security first, right? And then everything else is going to take a sideline.” The CCP forum and plan included a “huge focus on military and defense spending.”

Tye emphasized that as the CCP has been consolidating its entire economy more and more under government control — not to mention the social credit system that punishes and rewards all citizens for pro-CCP or anti-CCP behavior — there has also been a military mobilization. And here I must explain to my fellow Americans that the CCP is already at war with us, as it told its people it was back in 2019.

True, it is not bombing our cities or shooting down our planes, though it provides military equipment to those who do attack us, such as the terrorist Iranian regime. But the CCP has funded U.S. schools, deployed a network of spies, weaponized social media, bribed our politicians and media, infiltrated our government institutions and businesses, set up secretive police stations on U.S. land, and built up a thriving "birth tourism" industry that could give it control over how our election results go starting in 2030. Even COVID-19 might have been a CCP military bioweapon. Not all warfare is on the battlefield. This is all part of what I mean by "asymmetric warfare." And that's why the CCP's Five-Year Plan matters to me and to you.
