As Iran’s Regime Promotes Hitler, Remember That Nazis Helped Create Modern Jihad

The Nazis and modern Muslim jihadis share a passionate hatred for Jews and Christians. But the connection between Adolf Hitler and the likes of the Khameneis and Mahmoud Abbas is even more direct than that.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry shared an image of one of the posters in Tehran depicting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and Adolf Hitler. Besides illustrating that the Iranian regime is genocidal and incapable of rational negotiations, it also highlights the very real link between Nazism and the rise of modern jihad.

This pro-Nazi sentiment from Tehran is evident in other Muslim-controlled areas, too. In 2023, Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas asserted that the Nazi Holocaust occurred against Jews, not because of their faith, but because of their evil and predatory practices. Over a hundred Palestinian activists and academics defended Abbas’s comments. UNRWA schools in Gaza have repeatedly been caught glorifying Hitler in textbooks, while Palestinian students learn to make Nazi salutes. Gazan students also read Mein Kampf. A new Sunday Telegraph investigation found schools in Qatar have state-approved textbooks whitewashing the Holocaust and recommending Mein Kampf.

It is true, of course, that Islamic sacred texts have been commanding the massacre of Jews for some 1400 years now, but the modern resurgence of the global Jihad movement we know happened in the mid to late 20th century.

God gave Israel to the Jews (Genesis 17:8) centuries before either Islam or Nazism was invented. But in 1941, Hitler wrote to the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem al-Husseini, “Germany stands for an uncompromising struggle against the Jews. It is self-evident that the struggle against the Jewish national homeland in Palestine forms part of this struggle.” The Mufti and Hitler were allies.

Speaking of Grand Mufti al-Husseini, below is from an article summary from the journal SHERM on Holocaust Studies:

The article examines the connection between the Nazis and the Muslim Brotherhood facilitated by al-Husseini, showing the pivotal nature of the Arab Revolt of 1936 – 1939 in these relationships. By then the Brotherhood was sending delegations to the Nuremberg rallies and distributing the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Arabic-language selections from Mein Kampf. The article then explores al-Husseini’s ...instigation of a Nazi-backed coup in Iraq in April 1941, which was followed by the slaughter of hundreds of Jews in Baghdad. From there we go to al-Husseini’s first meeting with Hitler in November 1941 and his work with Himmler in organizing Muslim SS killing units in the Balkans. This section ends with al-Husseini’s hero’s welcome as a Nazi war criminal in July 1946, when he was once again embraced by the Muslim Brotherhood...[P]ost-war years, with al-Husseini’s recruitment and indoctrination of Yasser Arafat in the Brotherhood.

In conclusion, the journal article details the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood on the Palestinian Liberation Organization and Hamas.

PA President Abbas is the protege of Yasser Arafat, inventor of the “Palestinian people” and al-Husseini’s protege, so there’s a direct line from the Mufti to modern-day Gaza. In 2019, an Abbas advisor was still holding Al-Husseini up as a “role model.” And don’t forget that the Iranian regime backs the Palestinian terrorists.

The Nazis are gone, but their radical allies in the Muslim world fight on.
