Trump, GOP Shouldn’t Grant Concessions to Dems That Endanger ICE While Never Satisfying the Left

A Trump administration-congressional GOP letter viewed by Fox News proposes certain concessions to the Democrats to restart Homeland Security funding. These include visible IDs for DHS officers, increased use of bodycams,  and limitations on where immigration enforcement operations can occur.

These concessions could endanger federal immigration officers and allow more illegal alien criminals to evade justice by hiding in “sensitive” locations. Also, in the long run Democrat politicians will still hate everything ICE does while leftist activists continue to riot. Republicans have been making disastrous mistakes since the 19th century by believing they could negotiate with Democrats, only to find that Democrats never live up to their bargains.

At a certain point, Republicans will either have to become as aggressively committed to their beliefs and as unwilling to compromise as the Democrats are, or they will have to surrender to the Democrats altogether. A bloody Civil War and a century and a half of violence, election fraud, sexual perversion, crime, and domestic terrorism later, you’d think the GOP would have picked up on how evil the Democrat Party is.

But rather than simply asserting that the proposed concessions could endanger federal agents, I would like to share some information from the Trump-Vance Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that will help you judge for yourselves. As of the start of 2026, assaults on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were up by 1347%, while death threats against ICE were up by 8000%. And many of the threats were made against specific agents or their families, including calls to private or personal phones.

Last year, according to DHS, one ICE employee received a voicemail ranting, “I hope every one of those lawless c**** you call ICE officers gets doxxed one by one.” A different ICE officer’s spouse received a call from a sick dirtbag who hysterically harangued, “I don’t know how you let your husband work for ICE, and you sleep at night. F*** you, f*** your family. I hope your kids get deported by accident. How do you sleep? F*** you. Did you hear what happened to the Nazis after World War II? Because it’s what’s going to happen to your family.”

The reason requiring agents to display their IDs and provide them whenever requested is risky is that these agents are already targets of aggressive and extreme activists, and the new proposal would make it that much easier to target individuals and their families. The last thing Republicans should be doing is removing any last shreds of protection for ICE officers.

As for limiting where immigration enforcement can occur, isn’t that a tacit invitation to illegal aliens to exploit protections around certain areas? We have seen more than once how criminals running from ICE will try to hide out in schools. Last year, Indianapolis Public Schools defied ICE and tried to prevent an illegal alien father who was self-deporting from taking his child with him. In Ohio, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national posed as a teen student to attend school for a year without authorities finding him. Right now, a major scandal is unfolding in Fairfax County, Va., where a high school allowed an adult illegal alien to continue attending school all year despite a dozen sexual assaults on female students.

Or, in other words, it is against America’s interest and security to restrict where ICE can operate. Hopefully Republicans remember that.
