The evil Democrat governor of Virginia is now battling with federal authorities on behalf of an illegal alien who randomly stabbed a Fredericksburg woman to death.
Sierra Leone national Abdul Jalloh was caught on surveillance camera stabbing Stephanie Minter at a bus stop. The 41-year-old woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds to her upper body. Tragically, Fairfax County, where the fatal stabbing occurred, has sanctuary policies and has repeatedly released dangerous criminals in order to thwart Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Now Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger is stubbornly refusing to turn Jalloh over to ICE.
Democrats truly are the political party of crime, death, and lawlessness, and they don't even pretend otherwise.
In a March 4 post on X, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) revealed:
A 41-year-old Virginia mom, Stephanie Minter, was stabbed to death at a bus stop by a Sierra Leone criminal illegal alien with 30 prior arrests, and Governor Spanberger’s response to this murder and to our ICE detainer:
“Get a judicial warrant.”
Sanctuary state politicians have a true disdain for public safety and the constituents they serve.
That's the understatement of the century. I am reminded of the Marquis St. Evrémonde in Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities, which chronicles both the tyranny of the French aristocracy and the equally tyrannical and bloody Reign of Terror. In one unforgettable scene, the Marquis's carriage runs over and kills a young child. As the child's father weeps, heartbroken, the Marquis complains about the "abominable noise" and expresses irritation that a peasant child slowed the progress of his carriage. He casually draws out a coin for the grieving father, as if that will compensate for the dead child. When one of the peasants hurls back the coin, the Marquis furiously expresses a desire to "exterminate" all commoners. And that same heartless arrogance, that selfish disregard for the lives of others, is as characteristic of Democrats politicians even if they do not have aristocratic titles.

By the way, federal immigration officers specifically have warrantless arrest powers (see 8 U.S. Code § 1357). So Spanberger is being doubly outrageous in her demand.
To give some context on how sanctuary polices from Virginia Democrats are literally a matter of life and death, take the case of El Salvadoran serial criminal Marvin Fernando Morales-Ortez. Despite ending up in handcuffs multiple times, and even facing charges for murder, Morales-Ortez kept securing release from woke Fairfax County authorities. Fairfax prosecutors even dropped murder charges against him.
Then, despite an ICE detainer request, and in fact likely in defiant reaction to the detainer, Fairfax County released Morales-Ortez in December. Within 24 hours, Morales-Ortez murdered a man in Reston. That was a thoroughly avoidable murder.
And what if Spanberger releases Jalloh in a similar fit of anti-ICE insanity? She certainly is expending extra effort to protect him from federal justice. It's incomprehensibly evil and irresponsible.
