A Muslim rapper in Britain is claiming that if you refer to groups of men, particularly Muslim men, who go around mass-raping young girls as “grooming gangs,” that is “Islamophobic.”
Ironically, “grooming gang” is actually already a softened term, since the packs of criminals it refers to are really rape gangs, and mostly Muslim ones. Therefore, the argument British rapper Lowkey recently made — that it is prejudiced to use even a subdued term for mobs of Muslim rapists, and that we should act as if there’s no such thing as rape gangs at all — is even more preposterous.

Lowkey sneered on Piers Morgan’s show recently, “Read Dr. Ella Cockbain and what she’s written about these lies around ‘grooming gangs,’ which is not even a criminal category.” You could see the shock in the faces of the other four panelists during Lowkey’s rant, and several of them tried to interrupt him to address his point as he raved on.
One stunned guest asked, “Did you say grooming gangs are not a criminal category?” Morgan clarified even further, “Raping young girls is not a criminal category?” And then Lowkey made his most preposterous statement of all, “That’s a media term which was used to promote this Islamophobic idea of the world.” Morgan immediately replied, “Sorry, I can’t let that go.”
And neither can I, especially since Lowkey’s source is a woke propagandist. Cockbain is a lecturer who argued that a report exposing how many grooming gangs are Asian (i.e., including Middle Eastern/Muslim) hurt “already marginalised minority groups.” Of course, it would never occur to such a useful idiot to ask if perhaps there are certain supposed minority groups whose culture is antithetical to ours and endorses child sex exploitation.
Notably, as of 2022-2023, official UK government data shows that there were almost as many African and Asian rapists as those of all-white backgrounds in Britain, even though the foreign-born British population is around 17%. But then again, as of 2024, only 6% of victim-based crimes in Britain (including sexual offenses) resulted in an official charge, so we have no idea if Asian and African migrants are actually committing many more sexual crimes that do not appear in official data. There can be only two explanations for Lowkey’s attitude. First, Lowkey doesn’t believe there really is a rape gang problem, which I think is highly unlikely. He obviously is very much aware of the existence of these gangs; he just objects more to the descriptions of them than to their activities. And there we have a second explanation, which is that, as a Muslim, he simply does not have the same understanding of the criminality of rape that Westerners do. This would not be surprising, since the Islamic religion‘s sacred texts explicitly endorse and even institutionalize rape.
Let me break it down. My colleague, Robert Spencer, explained that the “Qur’an teaches that Infidel women can be lawfully taken for sexual use,” especially if they do not cover their bodies in accordance with strict Islamic standards, which would include almost all Western women and girls. Quran 70:22-30 and 23:5,6 — among other verses— mention how Muslim men are allowed to have sex not only with their wives but also with their slaves, since these verses praise men “who restrain their carnal desire (save with their wives and their slave girls, for these are lawful to them”). That includes sex slaves who were already married before being captured.
Furthermore, middle-aged Muhammad married Aisha when she was six and consummated the marriage when she was nine, so Islam has no minimum age for females to marry. And since Muslim women cannot refuse the sexual advances of the men in their lives, you see how Islam institutionalizes rape — including rape of children. That’s not Islamophobia; that’s fact.
