Archiving the “strange death of Europe,” as Douglas Murray put it, and the West more broadly, at the hands of the neoliberal technocracy.
The cultural — and plausibly literal, at some point in the not-so-distant future — war over the demographic fate of Britain, with tiny Piddington as the epicenter, continues.

Progressive LBC Karen discovers the final solution
The very living embodiment of a British Karen, Shelagh Fogarty, just as unseemly on the inside as the outside, who never once in her life saw a Third World migrant she didn’t want to dump in a formerly idyllic British village somewhere in the filthy Midlands so as to culturally enrich the bigots who have resided their unmolested for far too long, shares her brilliant idea that, if the residents of Piddington were just made to sit down to share a cup of tea with the military-age male migrants the government plans to deposit in their backyard, they’d come to realize that they’re actually, far from an existential threat, beautiful droppings from the pagan Diversity™ gods after all and, if anything, they ought to go whole-hog and just import ten thousand instead of 1,250.
The Piddington Deplorables really just need to “find out about the migrants’ stories over a tea” and all of their xenophobic anxieties will evaporate with the vapor from their shared cup:
In an ideal world, you’d like to think that there were routes to connect villagers to the people, so events. Have an event at the place. Go to where these people are living and meet them and find out about their stories over a tea, over cake, over whatever. You know, maybe that’s part of the picture… People really feel differently about each other when they sit and meet each other.
'People think differently when they sit down and meet each other.'

Wherever are the poor migrants supposed to go?
One of the recurring bits of sophistic rhetoric is that the migrants simply must go somewhere.
Not importing migrant hordes onto the tiny, formerly homogenous and relatively harmonious corner of the world (save for The Troubles) in the North Atlantic is simply not on the menu:
Hotels? Not here. Towns? Not here. Cities? Not here. Former army bases? Apparently not here either. So where exactly are asylum seekers supposed to go? Piddington has legitimate questions about infrastructure, but turning a plan to house 1,256 people into a “we’re leaving Britain” referendum is beginning to look less like protecting a community and more like NIMBYism with a Union Jack. Put people where there is infrastructure, give them the right to work, and let them become part of the communities they're living in.

“Become part of the communities they're living in”!
If there’s anything that the migrants to Europe have demonstrated, it’s their absolute eagerness to assimilate into the culture in which they land.

“Give them the right to work”!
All this time, for years, the small-minded natives have racked their brains trying to figure out how they might cajole their new Diversity™ mascots into actually contributing something to the economy instead of hanging out in tracksuits in coffee shops all day and plopping out twelve children apiece on the government dole, when the answer was staring them right in their bigoted faces: just give the migrants the “right to work”!
